Difference Makers

2020 has been a difficult year for many.  We wanted to use our time and resources to highlight the people in our communities who are making a difference for others during these trying times.  President Darek Hahn has had the chance to chat with some fantastic people and share their stories.

We’re always looking for more Difference Makers, if you have a referral please let us know!

Difference Makers – Marc Uys

In this installment of Difference Makers, Darek chats with good friend Marc Uys, Executive Director of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra.

Like many organizations, Marc and the PSO have had to adapt to find new ways to reach their audience and share their music. They have been active online, here is a YouTube collaboration video the PSO produced with Rossen Milanov and a few other orchestras:https://lnkd.in/eaiJkiQ

The PSO will be holding an at-home concert this Sunday May 31st at 4pm. This online event is free for anyone, here is the registration link: https://lnkd.in/eyEvDYi

Difference Makers – Alex Ruddy

In this installment of Difference Makers, Darek chats with Alex Ruddy of https://lnkd.in/ezYAnjK. Although her industry has been hit hard, she found a way for her customers to support both her small business and frontline health care workers. Alex set up a GoFundMe in which all proceeds go towards creating boxed lunches for healthcare workers.

Here’s how they’ve done so far, in Alex’s words:

“We’ve done over 1700 bagged lunches now, by the time this was taken we had done 800, and we also expanded it to two nursing homes staff, Homefront and Mr. Rogers Project (both for the impoverished) as well as continuing hospital trips to St. Peter’s and Robert Wood Johnson and Penn Medical Center!”

Great work Alex, it’s fantastic to see the next generation of business owners step up for a good cause!
